POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Global Brand Partnerships and Product Licensing will lead the development of opportunities to profitably grow and expand our client’s brands and products through partnerships, product licensing and warranty services.

Reporting to the President of Brand Management and Innovation, and through the development of a centralized partnerships capability, the Senior Director will unify the approach and processes for working with brand partners to drive efficiencies, increase revenue and decrease organization risk.

This role will implement the strategy to deliver a portfolio of products/experiences that market to and connect consumers to the broader brand portfolio, driving increased relevancy, loyalty and ultimately enhanced revenue streams aligned with brand portfolio strategies and grow the ~$40MM annual revenue portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive in and outbound partnership strategy and warranty capability across key markets that aligns with business goals and market opportunities
  • Build and nurture a high-performance partnership team across multiple regions and time zones with a deliberate intent to win and grow
  • Lead the global team that efficiently operates the day-to-day outbound licensing business including:
    • Identification, qualification and tracking of potential product licensing partnerships and business development
    • Pipeline of viable prospective partners and associated opportunities through competitive intel, relationship building, and participation in segment meetings, critical customer meetings, and key industry trade events
    • Structuring and negotiation of the business terms with both speed and holistic POV
    • Management of all program efforts for external licensee/partner stakeholders and the integrated planning and synergy with internal business stakeholders
    • Licensing agency oversight and management
  • Create best-in-class inbound strategic partnerships and collaborations management framework from partnership assessment through execution leveraging expanding the customer base
  • Define, develop and implement best in class extended warranty processes
  • Build a centralized partnership capability including the processes, technology and resources needed to ensure positive revenue contribution
    • Define current state opportunity to leverage technology to improve operations and integration with Newell Operating Rhythm (MBRs\CBRs)
    • Develop standard Partnership Toolbox (contract, term sheet, financial reporting)
    • Partner with Brand Marketing center of excellence to build Partnership Playbook to maximize partnership value
    • Host Quarterly Community of Practice meeting with key internal stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at an enterprise-level
  • Develop short and long-term strategies to meet and achieve revenue targets, securing senior internal stakeholder support and then execute those strategies
  • Work with internal cross functional partners to direct and guide the development of business plans, reports and presentation materials
  • Monitor partnership results and performance; produce regular reports and updates to executive leadership
  • Continuously improve processes and practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with a background in marketing and/or brand management; MBA preferred
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant expertise in brand marketing, product licensing and partnerships and a proven track record with well-known brands and market-by-market operations in consumer packaged goods and retail
  • Proven track record in building multi-million-dollar brand led partnership programs and international business acumen
  • A minimum of 10 years leading successful teams
  • Excellent leader and manager of a team, with the ability to influence at all levels through strong communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on attitude and a strong demonstrated record of problem solving and priority setting
  • Demonstrated history of developing collaborative relationships; comfortable and effective working in a matrixed environment
  • Persuasive communication and listening skills with the ability to adjust style to effectively interact with external customers and internal staff
