INTRODUCTION

Our client is a well-established manufacturer and distributor headquartered in Fullerton, CA (Orange County).

Their business is to produce and/or distribute critical environment and laboratory equipment, furnishings and related products for such industries as Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Medical Devices, Semiconductor, Electronics and Aerospace. Approximately 30% of their sales take place outside the US – most notably in Canada, Mexico and Europe. No single customer provides more than 4% of sales and no product line more than 13% of sales.

The Senior SEO Manager will be a hands-on practitioner with a proven track record of delivering qualified B2B sales leads and revenue growth through enhanced search engine visibility across a portfolio of branded and unbranded keywords, sites, microsites and landing pages. In addition to being an expert Search Engine Optimization professional, the ideal candidate will have a diverse digital marketing background and practical experience with the overall digital demand generation and sales conversion ecosystem.

KEY TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for driving strategic and sustainable growth in digital lead generation and sales across branded / unbranded keywords, sites, microsites and landing pages
  • Define, prioritize and manage execution of key SEO tactical initiatives including:
    • Keyword research and competitive analyses – monitor, expand and optimize hundreds of short and long-tail keywords / search terms
    • PPC keyword performance / keyword opposition-to-benefit analyses (KOB Score)
    • Site auditing and related issue / opportunity identification
    • On-page optimization (copy, content, tags, landing page design, URL, sitemap and site architecture best practices)
    • Offsite optimization (link building, social mentions, brand signals and other ranking factors)
  • Contribute to management and improvement of existing Paid Search (PPC / PLA) Program
  • Make recommendations for, deploy and ultimately manage standalone or integrated SEO / SEM (PPC) / Web Analytics tools to potentially include SEMrush, Moz Pro, Screaming Frog, Raven Tools, Acquisio, Marin, Google Analytics and Adobe Marketing Cloud
  • Identify, contract with and manage 3rd party resources such as specialized independent contractors and/or agencies as needed to achieve SEO / SEM objectives and as approved by company leadership
  • Educate / train in-house support teams to assist with SEO / SEM projects – application developers, copywriters / content producers, social media, database marketing, PR, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members and contribute best practice recommendations as related to multi-platform (desktop, mobile, etc.) content production, POEM partnerships, site architecture and UXD / user engagement
  • Lead the bi-weekly “Digital Opportunities” meeting during which time past results and go-forward strategies will be discussed with marketing, sales, production and operations team leaders
    • Work with marketing, sales and product teams to develop and deploy additional Web-based lead generation strategies
    • Remain current on industry best practices – share these learnings with team members and apply them to company initiatives to improve SEO / SEM program results

KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ verifiable, hands-on experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) specific to a B2B marketing / eCommerce operation
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university with concentration in marketing, communications, eBusiness, computer engineering or similar discipline
  • Must be an independent worker / self-starter with excellent communications, team-building, analytical and organizational skills
  • Must possess a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, site architecture and data mining / analysis
  • Proficiency with one or more core tools required in each of SEO, SEM and Web Analytics categories –Moz Pro, SEMrush, Marin, Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Adobe Marketing Cloud, etc.
  • Current SEO / SEM / Web Analytics certification in or through the likes of Google AdWords, Google Analytics, MarketMotive, etc. is preferred
  • Experience with Non-US market / Non-English SEO and SEM would be a plus
