ROLE SUMMARY

Our client is a fast growing, fast-paced consumer electronics company located in the heart of Raleigh and they are looking for an experienced and energetic Director of eCommerce to join their team.

This niche consumer electronics company sells its products both online through partners such as Amazon and in brick-n-mortar stores like WalMart and Sam’s Club. The product line is rapidly expanding into cutting-edge wireless solutions and products for multimedia streaming and high definition multimedia markets.

They are looking for a true “Rock Star” who is extremely productive, highly motivated and wants to become part of an important growing national brand.

The client currently has a small team – so the more hats you can wear, the better. You must be able to work on all levels from strategy to management to tactical execution. And most importantly, you must be highly skilled in the areas of direct-to-consumer eCommerce, as well as online marketplaces such as Amazon, Jet, eBay, and others. You need to be confident and personable and have the inherent ability to thrive in an ultra-fast-paced (but fun) environment.

KEY OBJECTIVES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute strategy to drive rapid, above-market, profitable growth in the eCommerce channel, while achieving sales and margin objectives
  • Ensure all operational aspects of eCommerce are tightly managed and effective, to ensure the delivery of an exceptional end customer experience.
  • Profitably acquire new customers through digital advertising, social media, search engine marketing, display advertising, and other online marketing programs
  • Increase customer retention and lifetime value through effective use of database marketing/CRM techniques and targeted email marketing.
  • Evaluate, recommend and implement internal technical improvements and also advise when to engage external partners to enable the company to deliver industry leading sales growth by best in class digital execution.
  • Ensure the website is fully functional, compelling and competitive.
  • Work with marketing to ensure content online is engaging, brand appropriate, and inspires loyalty and deeper online customer relationships.
  • Manage the deployment of brand content, new product launches and other online merchandising activities to improve site conversion, average order size and repeat traffic.
  • Ensure superior customer service and fulfillment performance, collaborating with colleagues in Finance and Operations to drive necessary improvements.
  • Manage all B2B2C channels through digital marketing initiatives and the development of consumer insights.
  • Build and lead a high-performing digital marketing/eCommerce team that forges strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Identify, select and manage external web development and marketing agencies; ensure they meet performance and cost objectives.

KEY QUALIFICATION and REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-7 years of continued advancement in driving eCommerce execution and strategy as related to direct-to-consumer, 1P and 3P marketplaces, mobile commerce, and social commerce.
  • Experience with various eCommerce platforms and tools including Magento, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Moz, etc. is required.
  • Demonstrable experience in the areas of SEO and paid advertising (search, display, social, and retargeting) in support of eCommerce customer acquisition and sales outcomes is required.
  • Direct experience marketing and selling in online marketplaces and retailers such as Amazon, Jet, eBay, Walmart.com, Target.com and others is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a both an internal team and outside digital agencies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or digital business from an accredited university
