POSITION SUMMARY

Our client is looking for an experienced data scientist to join their growing Customer Marketing and Analytics department. This position is eligible to work remotely.

The position will report to a senior data science manager and will require the new hire to bring extensive modelling expertise and experience, as well as a strong track record of innovation. The candidate will optimally be able to engage as a collaborative thought-partner with their leader and the larger Analytics organization, to both meet identified modelling needs and identify areas of opportunity or optimization.

The data scientist will develop and test predictive models, define audiences in support of marketing efforts, identify and visualize insights through thoughtful data analysis and provide operational support to critical marketing processes. The ideal candidate is an independent and inquisitive modelling expert with a drive to help advance the business and problem-solve, as well as a strong communicator to broad audiences regarding their highly-specialized work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and deploy predictive models to enable smart decision making and efficient deployment of marketing efforts
  • Manage the production scoring process with support from IT
  • Provide technical and analytical support to marketing programs and consumer research
  • Serve as department expert on data access and manipulation of large and complex, structured and unstructured data
  • Support projects that advance the client’s data infrastructure and environment, both on-premise and cloud
  • Investigate and onboard new data sources to provide valuable customer insights
  • Help build advanced analytical capabilities through an awareness of industry best practices
  • Visualize and communicate analytical findings to a broad audience

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/MS preferred in Mathematics/Statistics/CS/Data Science or related field
  • 3+ years data science experience in a marketing role or decision support role
  • Extensive data analysis and statistical modeling experience
  • Proven ability to perform complex queries and analyses using SQL
  • 3+ years Python or R
  • 2+ years in AWS or Azure
  • 1+ years in machine learning
  • Exposure to big data platforms such as AWS, OCI, Qubole, etc.
  • Experience in SAS and/or BigQuery is a plus
  • High degree of problem solving and reasoning abilities
  • Understanding of efficient database/data design principles
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
