POSITION SUMMARY

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) holds a pivotal role as a strategic business partner and a technology expert. In close collaboration with North American business leaders, the CIO will provide visionary leadership and hands-on management of IT initiatives, creating substantial business value. This role is critical for delivering exceptional customer experiences, supporting growth, integrating acquisitions, and optimizing artificial intelligence across our North American operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy and Leadership:

  • Collaborate with North American business leaders to strategically shape and align IT initiatives and projects with business objectives while actively participating in essential IT projects, promoting an environment of teamwork and agility
  • Cultivate and lead a progressive IT team, promoting an environment of continuous learning, innovation and caring
  • Work closely with M&A teams to assess the IT capabilities of target companies, determine synergies, evaluate integration costs, and facilitate a seamless IT integration, demonstrating reliability and integrity throughout the process
  • Build and maintain effective communication channels with external stakeholders, vendors, and partners

Cyber Security and Infrastructure Management:

  • Proactively manage the enhancement of the company’s cybersecurity position, ensuring world-class security measures for digital assets and data while staying informed about threats and defenses
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers and cloud services, with a commitment to reliability and safety

Digital Transformation and Innovation:

  • Partner with business units to define and execute IT initiatives that continuously improve our customers experiences, bolster organic growth, and enhance operational efficiency
  • Support digital transformation projects and pursue opportunities for innovation that create business value
  • Oversee and manage contract negotiations with IT vendors, contractors, and other service providers

Financial Management and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Develop and oversee the IT OpEx and CapEx budgets with an emphasis on achieving cost-effectiveness and maximizing ROI
  • Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures that are practical and ensure compliance with all relevant North American laws and standards
  • Implement data governance and analytics strategies to harness the power of data for informed decision-making

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of IT experience, with at least five (5) years in a leadership role
  • Proven experience as a CIO or similar managerial role
  • Strong cybersecurity acumen
  • Strong change management skills
  • Experience with acquisition integrations
  • Ability to think, engage, and communicate at all levels from “Bits” to the “Boardroom”
  • Demonstrated ability to merge technical expertise with strategic business partnerships skills
  • Excellent leadership, team management and communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies
