POSITION SUMMARY

The VP, Digital Media Strategy oversees investment, activation, and portfolio management across all digital channels with a focus on programmatic, social, and search.  They provide consistent strategic and thought leadership by bringing new ideas, innovation, and opportunities to the client regularly.  The VP develops go to market investment strategy, recommendation, and POV’s while providing effective leadership from a holistic media lens.

Please note that this role is fully onsite in Chicago and may require travel up to 20%.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own client relationship and education relating to media investment across all channels
  • Provide counsel on marketplace trends and investment expertise for clients and client teams. Be a thought leader in alternative buying models and integrated projects.
  • Maintain, develop and grow relationships with appropriate client level contacts
  • Inject ideas, innovation and leading industry developments into every assignment, including day-to-day client communications
  • Consistently drive the use of analytics to inform/validate investment strategies, tactical planning and on-going optimizations across all media
  • Collaborate with all partner agencies on your LOB, but also internally across all LOBs
  • Strategically develop campaigns across the funnel to align with clients strategic goals and KPIs
  • Manage negotiation and implementation of added value inventory, research partnerships, and custom sponsorship elements when applicable
  • Strong and proven ability to trouble-shoot and quickly problem solve campaign management issues as they arise, as well as effectively partner with strategy directors to appropriately communicate issues with clients
  • Consistently drive the use of analytics to inform/validate investment strategies, tactical planning and on-going optimizations across all media

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, with a concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, communications, or equivalent
  • 10+ years of digital media buying experience, with progressive levels of responsibility, across all platforms: display, search, mobile, programmatic, and paid social
  • Previous team management experience
  • Excellent negotiation skills and understanding of how to add incremental value without compromising communication needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to package, merchandise, and sell in concepts and new opportunities.

  • Problem-solver with strong project management experience
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and in a collaborative team setting
  • Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
