ROLE SUMMARY
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Sr. Director will lead the day-to-day operations of the content, creative services, video production and programming teams. Responsible for the creative ideation for all sports and entertainment brand and consumer touch point assets, the candidate must bring a combination of strong creative vision and problem solving techniques to the role, helping the team reach their creative potential.
Management of the team and the overall creative culture within the organization’s internal content & agency resources are key additional areas of focus for the role. Ensuring that other departments understand the processes and inputs that the content & creative team needs to be successful must be taken as an ongoing responsibility, making this role very cross-functional in nature.
Strong, multi-faceted leader able to operate outside of their functional areas and actively inspiring the entire team to generate idea’s that are innovative and move the brand forward. The incumbent must take on this leadership role in the internal agency and be a leader outside of just the content & creative services department, inspiring colleagues and clients in all areas of our business.
In addition, this position will help provide overall strategic plans and initiatives, ensure delivery of high quality programming, products and services consistent with sponsorship contracts and agreements, helps manage financial and budgetary compliance, is responsible (with creative ideas & solutions) for revenue growth for existing clients as well as cross selling initiatives. Most importantly, he/she is responsible for setting the creative vision and maintaining high creative standards on-going.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Active in the strategic development of the brand
- Set the creative vision for the brand and it’s effective creative development
- Provide creative leadership & standards for the entire internal agency/creative department
- Set high creative standards for his/her teams
- Provide career paths and development for his/her creative team members
- Help to create a creative culture at the agency focused on inspiring others
- Collaborates closely with other directors across the agency, building strong teams and breaking down internal silos
- Participate in ad hoc special projects as required, and other tasks as assigned
- Career management of direct reports, pushing for the achievement of personal, performance, and internal agency goals
- Other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in a relevant field, with a focus on traditional creative delivery roles (art direction, copywriting, etc.)
- 10+ years of experience working in an agency/client side in the marketing and communications field in a creative role
- Experience with a variety of software, including Photoshop, InDesign, Flash, etc.
- Understanding of the sports business/category would be preferred and demonstrate a best in class creative approach in offering marketing solutions to an assigned internal clients or category
- Understanding of digital and mobile experience design principals and how to leverage social media to engage consumers
- An intimate understanding of design, copy and web best practices/guidelines
- Organized with an ability to work under tight deadlines and shifting priorities
- Prior business development experience and demonstrated success in strategic & concepting skills
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills
- Demonstrated success in managing a cross-functional team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience working on a wide range of clients and categories
- Track record and body of work to demonstrate ability of getting highest level of creative sold and produced
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, overcome confusion and simplify complex situations
