POSITION SUMMARY

As a Software Sales Engineer, you will use your combined technical knowledge and sales skills to provide advice and support related to our client’s portfolio of products and services, for which a high level of expertise is needed.

Reporting to the VP of Channel Sales, you will work with customers who tend to be technical staff from OEMs, manufacturers, value chain service providers and other technology driven industries.

Software Sales Engineers are a key point of contact for customers and provide both pre and post sales advice. You will liaise regularly with other members of the sales team, marketing, applications, consulting, production and management teams. Together, the team will drive and be measured on the basis of revenue outcomes, service levels, and product innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pre-Sales: identify new clients who might benefit from company products or services, develop relationships, and maximize client potential
  • Liaise with other members of the sales team and other technical experts
  • Convince clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery
  • Make technical presentations and demonstrate how a product meets client needs
  • Develop long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements
  • Negotiate sales and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Promote company products, services and provide technical back up as required
  • Arrange and carry out product training and produce support material for other members of the sales team
  • Assist in the design of custom-made products
  • Meet regular sales targets and coordinate sales projects
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
  • Prepare reports for management and keep customer records

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • A strong technical background related to the following
    • Additive Manufacturing
    • Systems, processes, materials and peripherals
    • Part design, setup and production processes
    • Pre and post processes, i.e. software, de-powdering, heat treatment
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills
  • Sound judgement and good business sense
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • The ability to build relationships quickly and effectively
  • Strong, effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Education to bachelor’s degree level with a minimum 5-7 years of experience selling solutions for manufacturing process improvement.
  • Sales experience in the High-Tech manufacturing vertical is a plus
  • Ability and willingness to be an individual and team contributor
  • Success with target account selling, solution selling, and consultative sales techniques are essential
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to hunt and grow accounts
  • Proven sales experience in selling investment goods in the areas of CAD/CAM, tooling, machines or Laser-Technology. Expertise in selling Rapid Prototyping/Additive Manufacturing systems is a distinct advantage
  • Experience in working internationally is an advantage
  • High level of self-motivation to achieve goals and a business orientation to ensure that company interests and customers´ interests are matched is essential
  • Be a team-player who is willing to share knowledge and communicate in a transparent and clear way
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to cope with time-pressure and high workload
