ROLE SUMMARY
Our client, a well-funded start-up operating from the New York City metro area, seeks an innovative and accomplished technologist with a proven background designing and developing blockchain applications in context of a sustainable blockchain-based ecosystem. For reasons of confidentiality and security, the exact nature of the applications and purpose of the business cannot be disclosed at this time. That said, this will be a game changer impacting multiple global industries.
KEY ROLE OBJECTIVES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct research into and explore relevant application of the following: blockchain platforms, consensus mechanisms and algorithms, cryptocurrency, distributed ledger technologies, game theory, randomness generation, zero-knowledge proofs and more.
- Collaborate with the product / business owner to articulate and architect the best technological business solutions and products in context of a fluid start-up environment.
- Lead the ideation, creation, and delivery of a secure, high-performing ethereum-based blockchain, through hands-on collaboration with a team of talented, hard-working developers.
- Write high quality code with readability, efficiency and maintainability in mind (documentation and unit tests).
- Peer review the work of other developers / software engineers.
- Improve internal tools, libraries, standards, and contribute to CI/CD processes.
- Monitor daily scrums, back log grooming, and sprint planning sessions.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years’ experience as a full-stack developer with a strong code writing and programming background involving PHP (LAMP), Python, JavaScript, Node.JS, JQuery, Docker, HTML5, CSS3.
- 3+ years’ experience working as a technical architect, application development team lead, and/or manager of a software engineering team (on-site or remote).
- 2+ years’ hands-on experience with blockchains, blockchain platforms (preferably involving Ethereum, Hyperledger, or a similar platform) and related distributed ledger technologies (such as Solidity, Truffle, Infura, Geth, Parity, Quorum).
- Familiarity using GIT or other version control software for source code management and experience with Agile software development practices.
- Proven track record designing and delivering innovative software applications (front-end and back-end) under tight deadlines.
- Display the technical acumen, professional presence and impeccable communication skills (both written and verbal) to work effectively with people in all levels of the organization.
- BSc from an accredited university in computer science, software engineering, mathematics or related technical field. MSc and blockchain certification preferred.
