POSITION SUMMARY
Our client is a global private equity firm focused on acquiring businesses and realizing exponential growth through operational improvements and strategic capital deployment. Since its inception, it has successfully acquired businesses from leading Fortune 500 and large-cap companies. Their investments span the globe and operate in a wide array of industry verticals.
The private equity firm’s operations group is the shared infrastructure platform that supports the businesses within the portfolio in some, or nearly all aspects, of day-to-day operations. The operations group is currently looking for a Head of eCommerce to lead the strategy of the ecommerce operations of the firm’s portfolio of businesses, including a handful of notable brands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define, execute and lead the strategy of the eCommerce websites for the retail portfolio brands.
- Lead website development projects to enhance the brand presentation and consumer experience.
- Cross leverage resources and develop appropriate strategies to maximize growth for each of the brands.
- Oversee all functions of the portfolio’s e-commerce businesses including Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, CRM & Client Services, Inventory, and Logistics.
- Execute content marketing strategy for the website and lead the execution of digital assets to drive site traffic and on-site conversion.
- Collaborate with the digital marketing team to drive customer acquisition and retention efforts on all paid digital channels (email, SMS, paid search, paid social, and more), ensuring these deliver online sales goals, budget targets and are on-brand.
- Manage the web development partners: manage budgets, set goals, monitor and report on performance, manage timelines and prioritization.
- Manage all aspects of local site content (home, product category pages, item descriptions, meta tags and descriptions), ensuring products and information are accurate and always up to date
- Develop and manage merchandising assortment plans to ensure the growth of product categories in relation to sales objectives
- Assess and present to stakeholders the best strategies to increase traffic, user engagement, repeat business and other brand building actions
- Understand and keep up to date with emerging technologies, trends and innovative solutions being implemented across the industry.
- Manage the weekly / monthly analysis, forecasting, and reporting of the eCommerce businesses to ensure operational excellence.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
- 9+ years of experience managing eCommerce platforms
- 5+ years of experience leading growth-focused eCommerce strategies
- A leader, but also a team player; proven ability to work well individually and within the team environment
- Experience with retail brands, preferably a mix of start-ups and large corporations
- Experience working with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify, and Magento
- Proficiency with User Experience concepts and best practices
- Strong comfort level with ambiguity and constantly shifting priorities
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment and prioritize competing demands based on technical complexity and efficient design principles
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks by importance, due date, and interdependence with other tasks
