POSITION SUMMARY
The EVP, Transformation will work to position the health system for success by ensuring the execution of strategic clinical and business development initiatives through effective analysis, planning and the identification of new business opportunities.
This position serves as the key advisor on clinical and business transformation for the health system. The position will take a leading role in providing administrative oversight of all ambulatory centers, clinical service lines, development of population health initiatives, advanced primary care practices, shared risk relationships and business planning for the health system.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to the development of comprehensive system wide strategies and take a leading role in the planning, development and execution of implementation initiatives.
- Regularly assess all components of the existing strategic and tactical plans to ensure relevance in a dynamic environment, and recommend plan adjustments as needed.
- In collaboration with the senior leadership team, develop broad strategies and policies for new business opportunities and plans for increased growth based on market research and market trends (B2B, DTC, Service Line expansion, etc.)
- Establish and ensure a robust process for the development of business plans, including market analysis, pro forma financial analyses and feasibility studies for new business initiatives.
- Provide advice to the senior leadership team to ensure that overall business development effectiveness exceeds or meets growth goals and functions as an integrated delivery system.
- Execute strategies to position the company as the preferred provider of healthcare services for the communities we serve, and deliver services that can support the mission and expansion of the company.
- Collaborates with the Chief Medical Officer in providing administrative oversight of service lines and evaluate the effectiveness of service line operations in achieving system wide goals and objectives.
Collaborate with other executives (Chief Operations Officer and Strategy Officer) to develop and execute plans for expansive growth in areas designated below.
- Evaluate the performance of new business ventures and make recommendations for improvement. Determines the feasibility of new ideas/initiatives to enhance the health system, improve service quality and enhance patient access.
- Work to expand outreach activities and ambulatory care strategy and sites of service for enhanced presence.
- Create effective partnerships that will facilitate the delivery of services and the development of a comprehensive integrated health care system.
- Provide oversight to ambulatory care centers development and operations, identify and develop strategies to remove barriers to improve performance and expand the company’s position in its markets.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced Degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related field is required. A medical degree is desirable but not required depending on experience.
- 10+ years of planning and business development experience at a senior level in a complex healthcare organization is required.
- Strong cross-functional background in a variety of clinical and business responsibilities including clinical service lines, population health, business development and managed care contracting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to inspire others and build consensus towards a shared vision.
- The ability to articulate and demonstrate commitment to the integration of the company’s mission into the clinical and business operations at every level of the organization/
- Thorough knowledge of the healthcare industry, particularly on evolving environmental trends.
- Demonstrated capability to balance the needs and requirements of a system with those of a local facility.
- Demonstrated commitment to working as a visible senior leader representing the company in the community, establishing new and strengthening existing strategic relationships.
- Established track record of successful customer service, communication effectiveness, relationship building, business plan execution and ongoing development.
- Ability to develop and maintain trusting and effective relationships with system and facility leadership teams, physicians and business partners.
- High degree of initiative coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills to generate a sense of trust and teamwork.
- Comfort with shared ownership of programs, initiatives, and deliverables.
- High degree of integrity and personal conduct that is reflective of the mission and values of the company.
