SUMMARY
Our client seeks an energetic, upbeat professional who will be responsible for all aspects of online merchandising, product and category leadership. Through product, promotion and offer leadership, the Director of eCommerce Merchandising will provide direct merchandising expertise that continually increases revenues and profitability, achieves all assigned department and product category goals and objectives, ultimately delivering on the eCommerce merchandising strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provides leadership to eCommerce Technology Merchandising team and serves as back up to SVP of Merchandising within all areas of immediate team, Merchandising team and enterprise team communication and execution of daily business and strategic initiatives
- Ensures cross functional team partners deliver on eCommerce strategy as related to Merchandising; including documented Assortment, Pricing and Promotional strategies
- Delivers to Enterprise Merchandising product requirements that are unique and differentiating contributors to all digital sites / platforms and brand merchandising efforts ( exclusive products, proprietary, sheltered brands, boutique products, bundles, closeouts, etc.)
- Works with Private Label team to recommend & identify opportunities within proprietary assortment satisfying the brand requirements of assortment, quality, price and delivery
- Partnering with cross functional teams, focuses on providing superior category shopping experiences.
- Works with Site Operations & UX teams to provide exceptional customer shopping experiences with marquee product brands
- Partners with Enterprise Merchandising and Vendors to brainstorm, create and plan regular promotional and business driving events for key product brands
- Works closely with Digital marketing team to ensure effective product merchandising reach in all channel marketing initiatives
- Ensures companies are first to market with all major new products and product launches. Coordinates closely with Enterprise Merchandising and Inventory Management
- Creates unique promotional and pricing strategies for improving and positively affecting the pricing perception of the various company brands. Maximizes platform capabilities through creative promotional tactics
- Monitors, retains awareness and reacts to competitive pricing and promotional activities including all MI & Marketplace competitors
- Works closely with Inventory Management and Vendors to ensure closeouts, hot buys, end of life and restock deals are secured
- Increases market awareness through supplier and industry contacts, merchandise shows, and trade periodicals in order to secure new products, analyze market trends and determine pricing strategies
- Studies and monitors both short and long term market trends that will affect merchandising plans for the future
- Researches and analyzes product and category performance statistics; determines customer requirements and product needs
- Maintains an effective rapport and partnership with enterprise cross functional teams
- Develops and maintains clear communications with all company personnel
- Maintains good company image, supplier relations and professional correspondence through many daily business contacts. Answers or responds to all outside inquires and opportunities in a professional and timely manner
- Develops and proposes process and procedural changes which will improve operation of the department
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field. MBA preferred.
- Working knowledge product categories within Musical Instrument (M.I.) market. Solid understanding of category driving product brands and models with corresponding historical perspective
- Minimum 5 years of direct / eCommerce merchandising management experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in B2C/DTC eCommerce, retail, call center, or working for an M.I. supplier
- Minimum 5 years experience working with merchandising and conversion optimization tools and required to test outcomes and deliver results
- Minimum 5 years experience with Web analytics solutions ranging from Google Analytics to Adobe SiteCatalyst
- Minimum 2 years experience managing multichannel marketplaces, with a focus on Amazon Seller Central (FBA) and Vendor Central
- Well-versed in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
