INTRODUCTION
Our client, a long-standing and beloved manufacturer and media company, is in market for a Creative Director who will be responsible for design, user experience, customer satisfaction, and sales outcomes (partially) as related to digital products and platforms. S/he will report to the VP, Creative Services and will be laterally aligned with his or her Creative Director(s) counterpart on the print and physical product side of the house.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- In support of successfully eliciting emotional responses from customers and driving sales outcomes on behalf of the company, champion creativity and customer-centricity in context of digital products and platforms.
- Foster an environment in which good ideas are conceptualized, nurtured, brought to life, and monetized.
- Collaborate with team members in product development, brand experience, marketing, and sales in planning and producing digital products and related experiences.
- In support of digital product sales and related customer experiences, take responsibility for development of digital collateral such as website visual design and prototypes, email templates, promotional and product landing pages, banners, graphics, and other such digital collateral.
- Creatively direct concept designers, graphic designers, art professionals, photographers and copywriters, harnessing their development and performance, in a manner that assures maximum efficiency and creativity.
- Manage, supervise, review and audit the work of designers, art professionals, photographers, and copywriters to ensure the creative level expected is being met.
- Develop and implement best-in-class workflows and related processes as required to produce high quality deliverables on time and on budget.
- Work with members of marketing and sales analysis to measure and optimize success of initiatives, products, etc. for which the Creative Director is responsible.
- Stay abreast of trends in art, copywriting, digital product design and development, multi-device interactivity, and enabling technologies.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years of creative experience with a minimum 5+ years of leadership experience in a design, creative or product development department overseeing design, copywriting, and production.
- Experience designing and/or producing digital product in context of multi-device and multi-channel environments strongly preferred.
- Mastery of all the latest design tools, platforms, and versions of applicable software programs – Adobe CS6/Creative Suite with an emphasis on digital, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Fireworks, Final Cut Pro, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS/3, Unity and other design tools.
- Strong proficiency with productivity tools such as Workfront, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Mastery of visual content creation, including planning and executing shoots for video and still photography.
- Strong creative vision with a solid understanding of the role that design plays in achieving business objectives.
- Experience with digital and mobile-first creative concepting and production.
- Committed to excellence – meticulous and goal oriented with a keen eye for the smallest details.
- Experience leading, managing and mentoring a creative team.
- Exceptional presentation and storytelling abilities.
- Bachelors degree from a Top 20 design school (RSID, Pratt, CMU, etc.) required.
