The Associate Vice President, Omnichannel Strategy will develop and drive global consistency of our client’s mono-branded concepts and deliver direct-to-consumer turnkey solutions to markets through store development, global visual merchandising, and by influencing marketing activation. This role will lead and drive sustainable and profitable retail and eCommerce market share growth for full-price stores, factory outlets, and DTC digital platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
OMNICHANNEL:
- Define communication protocol and learning exchange with all global markets in effort to drive consistency and share best practices for mono-branded retail in all global markets (approximately 1300 stores) and DTC digital commerce platforms.
- Partner with Brand Management to deliver best in class communications to stores and eCommerce
- Outline and define success for omnichannel direct-to-consumer in the next 3-5 years based on net sales, profitability, and improvement of brand health indicators.
- Partner with the Global Vice President of Concept to Consumer Marketing and Business Planning to help develop and drive global mono-branded retail strategy and eCommerce footprint.
- Make commercial decisions by analyzing the retail KPI’s, local retail trends and needs to concert with North America and Western Europe Retail and eCommerce teams.
- Define an optimal omnichannel marketing planning process that also takes into account Retail and eCommerce merchandising and marketing priorities.
- Critically evaluate all current processes and ensure these comply with all Global Retail Concept to Consumer and Strategy standards.
- Implement Retail and eCommerce scorecard to evaluate store and site execution.
RETAIL:
- Continue to develop best in class mono-branded retail through store development, global visual merchandising, and influencing global marketing activation teams.
- Lead merchandising team, responsible for US/UK Retail concepts, and apply learnings globally.
- Develop future store formats.
- Manage and control store development, global visual merchandising, US/UK retail merchandising and related enhancement and improvement budgets.
- Identify and communicate market needs and best practices across the pilot markets.
- Motivating and inspiring the Retail Back Office teams to meet or exceed commercial goals and KPI’s and build Brand equity.
- Create best in class visual merchandising tools, communication, and execution.
- Continue to utilize original concept retail hubs in US/UK as a platform to test product, global brand communications, and global marketing activation in an effort to drive business and gain further best practices.
eCOMMERCE:
- Define and continuously fine tune the eCommerce strategy and vision.
- Act as the eCommerce advocate to bring the best content and toolkits to the markets.
- Together with the relevant Global teams, identify and orchestrate opportunities to take the eCommerce platform, content and experience to the next level.
- Work closely with the Global SSE team and market eCommerce teams to define an optimal operating and collaboration model that is globally-steered but flexible enough to adapt to local needs and requirements.
- Work with Global Brand Marketing to identify specific content, budget and h/c requirements as well as any new processes needed to improve the integration of marketing and selling on eCommerce platform.
- Work closely with the CRM team to seamlessly integrate data collection into the online consumer journey and to leverage existing consumer data to drive more sales.
- Manage the execution of content strategy (in partnering with brand communications, merchandising and BUs) and continuously look for opportunities to improve and refine content and usage.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 15 + years related retail business experience required; ideally with a combination of strategy, merchandising, eCommerce, sales and operations.
- 10+ years experience managing multidisciplinary teams of 20+ in omnichannel retail or DTC environment.
- 7+ years experience as 8+ figure P&L owner charged with market expansion and new channel introduction.
- 5+ years working for a global retail organization and/or in a leadership role driving international growth.
- Proven track record leveraging innovation to establish and grow omnichannel direct-to-consumer businesses.
- Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA from Top 20 B-School highly preferred.
